Coach Kris Sadens

My Journey
My life changed forever on May 8th, 2013 when my son Silas, then10 months old, was diagnosed with a rare vascular disease called Sturge-Weber Syndrome that was the cause of epileptic seizures that had started a month earlier.
I now count the adversity of that experience as one of my life’s biggest gifts. It also began my fascination with human brain, as it was the source of all my son’s trouble.
I started practicing meditation around this time to help manage my own mind from spiraling. My son’s uncertain future was the source of constant anxiety and I needed some tools.
Meditation began to help me understand my own mind better. It created space between stimulus and response that helped me at work and at home. It helped me realize how mindlessly I had been living most of my days.
As a life long learner and began to read and listen to everything I could on the subject.
In 2021, I signed up for a course called Brain Based Conversation Skills at the Neuroleadership Instititue.
I had no idea it was a coaching course but I quickly saw the value in the coaching skill set as a sales leader. After 24 hours of learning and practice, I was inspired.
Around the time of that first class, I talked to Dennis for the first time. It was intended to be a casual, informational conversation that helped me understand what the life of a coach looked like.
That conversation changed my life. In it, he said “Nothing changes until you do.” Those five simple words unlocked everything.
Dennis became my coach and over the next two years I began to transform my life. I saw how my own mind and limiting beliefs were holding me back. Everything in my life changed.
Inspired by my personal experience, and my innate passion for learning and growth, I’ve spent the last few years studying and practicing the art and science of professional coaching.
First, I earned accreditation at the NeuroLeadership Institute where I developed a deeper understanding of Neuroscience and how these machines in our heads work.
I then completed the curriculum at the CoActive Training Institute. This was a beautiful experience centered more around our hearts and souls. It gave me confidence to dive deeper into talking life’s meaning with clients.
Most recently, I have learned and practiced Positive Intelligence. A revelatory distillation of what I learned in Neuroscience and CoActive, into practical and masterfully designed framework with one goal; unlocking and fulfilling one’s potential.
I’ve discovered that being of service to other people is one of my life's great joys. I will spend the rest of my life meeting them on the pathways of their life for a period of time to help evoke the same type of transformation I’ve experienced.
Our potential is only limited by our own minds. We are capable of literally anything we want to achieve.
If you are curious how coaching might be a catalyst to help you get in touch with that nagging sense that you’re meant for more, it would be my privilege to explore that with you.
